Here at Sydney Connections we are on the pulse of one of the greatest cities on the planet, and if you are thinking of visiting Sydney this Christmas we hope to give you some ideas of what to do and see during the festive season in this blog.
There are many festive music events in and around Sydney during this time as well as fantastic trees, lights, markets, choirs, santas, and of course fireworks.
Woolworths Carols In The Domain
What could be more festive than carol singing and Woolworths Carols is the largest free Christmas concert in Sydney. In 2017 it will be the 35th year of this star studded festive celebration, and it is as popular as ever.
Activities all start at 12pm with festive food, drinks and family fun activities. Then at 3pm the pre-show entertainment takes to the stage with family favourites until 7.30 when the carols start.
The Christmas Rocks Market
Celebrate Christmas at the Rocks market, where exciting festive stalls are festooned with Christmas ornaments and treats.
Ideal for last minute shopping for stocking fillers, or decorations for the home or tree. Even pick up your Christmas tree be it real or other.
Also take the opportunity of sampling some festive food and drink and perhaps partake in a carol or two. Don’t be tempted to go to a boring old mall, get down to The Rocks.
Carriageworks Christmas Market
The Carriageworks Christmas Market offers a unique opportunity to buy all your fresh produce you may need over the festive period. Held just a couple of days before Christmas it is the perfect chance to pick up that last minute forgotten item that is essential for your Christmas lunch.
There are other stalls selling gifts and presents just in case you have forgotten a family member or two in your Christmas shopping.
Taronga Zoo
Not many places are open to the public on Christmas day, but if you do fancy getting out of the confines of your own home for one or two hours with the kids, then you can head down to Taronga Zoo.
Located just a short ferry ride from the city, it is also a great place to look back and marvel at Sydney’s skyline. There are over three hundred species of animals for you and your family to enjoy, whilst stopping for ice-cream and a well earned rest.
Taronga Zoo is set on acres of fantastic grounds with many activities to partake in as well as the animals. A real Christmas treat is in store for you at the zoo.
These are just some of the great Christmas ideas you can partake of in Sydney over Christmas. Don’t forget to keep abreast of Sydney Connections blog pages so that you are fully informed what is going on in the busiest city in Australia.
